We have always been in the cattle business as we both grew up in a farm family with commercial beef cattle.  We had a dream to get into purebreds and when our son, Braeden, was born in 1999 we decided to buy him a purebred cow as an "education fund".  Things just took off from there.  We chose the Limousin breed because from our experience that's what had worked best with our cross-bred commercial herd.  Once we got Limousin into our commercial herd, our cows got so much better.  Longevity and stay-ability improved as well as calving problems virtually disappearing.
Limo calves are very vigorous - they just get up and start sucking.

Purebred Breeder of the Year - 2007
Neil, Sherry, Braeden and Annie along
with Neil's parents, Carl and Olga Christiansen
and right hand man, Brian Burby

We were honored to receive this award from
The Alberta Limousin Association
Fellow breeder, Barry McCarty, had these words to say when he nominated us:
"Neil and Sherry have had quite a presence in the purebred sales and shows. You must realize the tremendous effort they put in as they are basically a small family operation. They both work off the farm and have young children. Where is the time to bring these cattle out in top shape to Bull Congresses and major shows?  They get it done in fine style.  They've also made a big effort to make bulls available for AI stud, which is a real bonus to the breed!
We really appreciate the positive, smiling faces in barn alleys and best wishes in the future."
